Privacy Policy
Last updated: 13 October 2026
This policy explains what information Plot collects on plotstudio.live, why, where it is kept, and what you can ask us to do with it. Plot is run from India.
1. What we collect
When you step inside (the name and email form):
- your name and email address;
- where you came from (for example, a link from Instagram) and what you tapped before joining (for example, an essay or a phone on the homepage);
- a scrambled, one-way code made from your internet address. We use it only to stop spam and repeated sign-ups. We do not store your internet address itself.
When you send your words on the story page:
- what you write, the question you chose to answer, and your name and email;
- your clear yes or no on whether we may publish a story made from your words.
We do not ask for payment details, your location, your phone number or any account password on this site.
2. Why we use it
- To open the site for you (stories, essays, the podcast and the story page).
- To give you first access to the Plot app when it opens, and to email you about it.
- To read your words and, if we choose them, make a story for you.
- To understand which content brings people to Plot, so we can make more of what helps.
- To keep the site safe from spam and abuse.
We do not sell your information, rent it, or use it for advertising.
3. Your story and publishing
A story made from your words is only ever published if you ticked "You can publish my story without identifiers". If you did, we publish it without your name, email or any detail that could identify you. If you did not tick it, your words and your story stay private. You can change your mind at any time by emailing us.
When we make a story, we may use writing and voice tools, including AI services, to help create the text and the audio.
4. What stays in your browser
After you join, your name and email are saved in your own browser so the site remembers you and doesn't ask again. This stays on your device and is not a tracking cookie. To clear it, open plotstudio.live/?reset or clear this site's data in your browser settings.
5. Who else is involved
- Supabase stores the list and the words you send, in a data centre in the European Union.
- Our website host serves the pages, and like any web server it sees basic request information such as your internet address.
- Google Fonts provides the typefaces, so your browser fetches font files from Google.
- Spotify powers the podcast player. It only loads after you join, and Spotify's own privacy policy applies to it, including any cookies it sets.
- Instagram is a link only. Nothing from Instagram loads on our pages.
We use no analytics or advertising trackers on this site.
6. How long we keep it
We keep your name, email and words until you ask us to delete them, or until we no longer need them for the reasons above.
7. Your choices and rights
You can ask us to show you the information we hold about you, correct it, delete it, or stop emailing you. Email us and we will reply within 30 days. We will never make you give a reason. Depending on where you live, laws such as India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 or the EU's GDPR may give you further rights, and we will honour them.
8. Keeping it safe
Our database can't be read from the website at all. Visitors can only add a sign-up or send their words, through protected, rate-limited functions. All traffic is encrypted. No system is perfect, but we take care, and we'll tell you if something ever goes wrong with your information.
9. Age
Plot is for people aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone younger. If you think someone under 18 has joined, email us and we will delete their details.
10. Changes
If we change this policy, we will update the date at the top. If a change is significant, we will tell people on the list by email.
